Quick turnaround: Posters that are emailed for printing before midday are normally despatched the same day. Our standard service is Royal Mail 24hr Tracked (most are delivered next day but we find that sometimes it can take two days and on rare occasions three). The tracked service also allows clients to specify a “safe place” and no signature is needed. SMS messages if you supply a mobile number or emails are also sent direct from Royal Mail to inform you of delivery. Urgent posters should be sent Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1pm which requires a signature.

Key points of the service Foldable Fabric Printing: Our most popular product is printing onto foldable fabric.  Print quality is excellent and the posters are supplied folded in a useful A4 sized plastic box. Fabric posters can be printed any size up to the massive US-sized 8x4 posters as they all will fold into the box! Creasing is minimal and acceptable, and the fabric can be ironed using a low heat and no steam if necessary. All fabric posters are “hot-cut” at 1000oC so the edges are heat sealed and no fraying occurs. Posters are supplied in a convenient post-proof plastic box - our slim boxes hold 1-2 posters whilst the normal ones hold up to 4. Update - from Sept 2016 we upgraded our fabric printers - the print quality now is even better - the colours even punchier and they are hard to distinguish from paper prints
Free proofing: Whilst we cannot guarantee that we will spot any mistakes/errors in your poster, if we do spot any obvious errors or problems we will be happy to mail you prior to printing so you can amend the poster. This is all part of the service and is free. We have spotted many errors in our print-only posters and have saved many an embarrassing moment for the presenter!
Fixings provided free of charge - we do not charge - these are for your convenience: Paper posters: We send velcro stickies - these work fine with paper posters. Fabric posters: Fabric posters are trickier as there is no velcro/tape adhesive that will stick permanently to PE fabric. We now send 3 types of fixings. 1. Push pins - these should be used whenever possible as they will not fall down 2. Double sided tape - for use with smooth boards. We have also been told that blu-tack works well.  3. Velcro tabs - we have found that fabric posters on occasion do not adhere well to the velcro.  When velcro has to be used, we recommend using the double sided tape as a sandwich between the velcro and the poster. The double sided tape sticks better to the fabric than the velcro 4. As of 27th April 2015 we are pleased to also include plastic holders which should be used on the top left and right (and in the middle depending on the size) when pins cannot be used. If the velcro or double sided tape is stuck to the back of the holder, the poster will not fall down. See below

2 Golden Rules when designing your poster

The two most common errors we see as printers of scientific posters are easily avoidable.....

1. Always make your poster “actual size” Do not simply open powerpoint and make your poster - enter the dimensions and then make it - it makes designing it much easier, and the final print is much better as any images will be printed “as seen” rather than being scaled up by ~400% 2. If possible send a pdf with fonts embedded, or if this is not possible, stick to standard fonts. Another common problem is with fonts and text “moving around” - sending a pdf file can minimise this happening If you are not sure or need advice, give us a quick call or email your poster for us to check - we are happy to help!
Fabric poster ready for “hot-cutting”
stick the velcro or double sided tape to the back of the holder open the holder and slip in the poster then close. Repeat on other corner and possibly pop one in the middle if a landscape poster A single place holder with velcro on holding up an A0 poster
First - stick the velcro or double sided tape to the back of the holder. Open the holder up and gently insert fabric poster. Then close. All done! Use the other velcro or tape to stop it flapping around. The holders will keep the poster up - the last photo shows just one holder easily holding up an A0 sized poster. Click to enlarge

To the right are links to powerpoint templates that we recently paid a professional powerpoint designer to make for us. Feel free to download and use them. They are sized A0 and there is a landscape and portrait version are available. Whilst we do not recommend upscaling posters, these templates will be fine for any “A” size as it is fine to downscale from A0 to A1 or A2 as print quality will not be lost.
Paper printing: Posters are printed on 210gsm satin photo-paper. We can print paper posters from 84cm wide up to 1.5m long.  The paper is smudge proof and produces superb quality prints and is supplied in a sturdy cardboard tube.  Photo-quality prints: All posters are printed at the highest print setting of 1200dpi (photo quality). Paper print quality is superb. Fabric printing also produces excellent photo reproduction as the image on the right displays.
